Zooom! Crush! It’s an action packed, engines roaring, metal crushing kind of day! It’s monster truck time —sensory bin style! Rev-up your imaginative minds and explore thrilling stunts, tunnel gates, and the ultimate rocky raceway with us! This easy-to-set-up sensory bin is super fun and uses just a few recycled items! Start your engines —it’s sensory play time!
We started by collecting our mini-cars for crushing and cones. The flag took at total of 2 minutes to make. I printed an image of the web and adhered them to mini-skewers with hot glue! This was C’s favorite addition. Total time to set up the sensory bin was less than 20 minutes and total cost = $0! Yay! $0 = happy Mommy! Let’s break it down.
Simple materials needed:
- Happy Baby O’s Containers
- Egg Carton
- Dirt
- Large Plastic Bin
- Shovel
Don’t have O’s containers? Easy fix, just use cardboard, recycled water bottles cut off, or anything similar. I just love homemade fun! I think my recycled collection is a bit out of control at the moment, but who’s looking, right?! After placing the recycled containers in the bin, I added dirt and the cardboard ramps! That’s it! Super easy and gleaming with fun imaginative and ! Ramps? Yes, we even have ramps!
What’s a monster track without ramps, right?! Just fold one end of a small piece of cardboard to create your ramp on each side and add your flags. Ready, set, GO!
Here we go! Monster Fire Truck is at the tunnel gate and ready to CRUSH!
Here’s our rippin’ Monster Truck course! The cars are lining up to start! Do you hear that?
Meet Monster BlueTruck! Who’s faster?
Wow, they are fast! Watch out! It’s a monster truck face-off!
Ow! Monster Fire Truck’s massive wheels are crushing those cars!
This was the first bin he asked for, so it’s super special! He kept saying, “Zoooom Mommy!” “Crash” Lots of giggles too!
Even Lightening McQueen joined in the thrilling fun! He’s gearing up to start his race!
Fire Monster truck is headed off the track by Lightening McQueen! He’s small, but his super speed really did the trick!
I love all C’s facial expressions! He’s having a blast!

Weeeee! Airborn!
I think we have a WINNER!!! Who new dirt was so fun?! This sensory bin was simple to set up and loaded with imaginative fun! Vrooooom! Does your little one love small world play?
