Christmas Tree Tissue Paper Craft

Christmas tree tissue paper by number craft using addition for kids by Crayon Box Chronicles. #Christmas #mathactivity

Remember color by number as a kid? It was my go-to activity, so we’ve recreated it using tissue paper and mathematics. In the past, we’ve done turkey tissue paper by number and heart tissue paper by number crafts using simple numbers.  For our Christmas tree tissue paper by number craft, we’re making it more challenging by using addition. You can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, or simple numbers, depending on your child’s ability.

You’ll need the following materials:

Christmas Tree Math Activity

Print out your Christmas Tree template in the materials section above, fill-in your addition problems, then assign your color order. We used rocks we painted for a loose materials math activity.

Once you’ve decided on colors and addition problems, rip or cut the paper into small squares.

Christmas Math Activity for Kindergartners

Squeeze the paper into small balls and apply.  We identified each color and completed all the christmas bulb math problems for each number.  Ripping and scrunching paper is wonderful for stimulating sensory muscles too.

Apply glue and stick. It’s that simple.

Color by Number Using Addition

Continue all the way around the tree until you’re done.

Tissue Paper by Sum Activity for Christmas

We discussed the SUM of two numbers, odd and even numbers, and skip counting.

This simple holiday activity works on number and color recognition, addition, fine motor, and sensory.

If your little one enjoys hands-on math activities, see our easy to make Geoboard with fabric loops. They make wonderful inexpensive kid-made gifts too.
