When I thought of an Under The Sea birthday theme, I was inspired by origami creatures. The final invite was probably my fifth attempt at changing it, but in the end I’m really happy with it. I used three origami folds — Whale, Engelfish, and Crab. The fish and crabs are all the same folds, I just adjusted the paper size to get them smaller — definite trial and error! I printed the labels on 65 lb. card stock paper, cut them with a 2″ circle punch, and a lot of glue. The party detail bubbles represented bubbles.
Next, I slipped the backdrop into a clear photo envelope {Hobby Lobby photo section, 3.79} and added blue moon sand {Michaels. 5.99} to represent water. Tip: On the back corners of the invitation add an extra piece of tape on the inside edges — prevents the sand from falling out.
