Fire Prevention Week Activities for Kids

Fire Prevention Week Activities, Crafts, and Books for Kids

According to the National Fire Protection Association, roughly half of home fire deaths result from fires reported between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., when most people are asleep.  Fire prevention week takes place the week of Oct 4-10, 2015.  Firefighters will be emphasizing, “Hear The Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm!”

CJ’s favorite pretend play gear is definitely his fireman air tank.  We’re big book lovers too, so he’s really enjoying learning about fire safety with his colorful fire truck books.  We built campfires out of rocks, sticks, buttons, string, and paint to learn about fire safety in the past.

To help teach fire safety to kids, here are some fun, way too-cute, creative crafts, activities, and books for prevention week.
